One Family's attempt to live simply, while simply following. Jesus that is!

Day 4 was one of our longest days of ministry, but filled with blessings. We spent some time visiting schools, the local city square, along with conducting a VBS afternoon at Los Bordos. It has been busy, but very rewarding!
We started our day at a school of elementary aged kids. Here we had the opportunity to sing, sign and share testimony. There were kids everywhere and willing to talk. We got to spend a little time before heading off to do some street ministry!

Our team then traveled to the city’s central park. Here we had planned to set up shop and do a quick service. Justin had told me that it could be hit or miss, depending on how the authorities treated us. But in only a way that could be planned by God, Justin jumped off the bus to see a police officer that he and Ashley had previously met! He welcomed our group and let us set up in a great spot. The sign art team did their thing, Cam and Sam shared amazing testimonies, before Drew brought the truth! We were able to pray and fellowship with some, while others accepted Christ.

In a moment that will be sketched in my heart, there was a man who had just accepted Christ and received a Bible. He was so excited that he pulled it out and started sharing with a friend. It was the clearest picture of God working through the lives of His people.
After lunch, we headed back out to a local high school. The Spanish Beef continued to bless us through worship, while Ginger, Roxanne, and Tim shared testimony. We did not have a great deal of time, but we prayed with as many of them as possible.
We finished with a afternoon at Los Bordos, which is a area Justin and Ashley have worked hard to reach. It was the lowest income area we have served in, with many children not having shoes or cloths. We had a great time playing soccer, sharing a bible story, and doing crafts. It was amazing to see children with so little, by our standards, laugh and have fun making things and playing futbol. We are looking forward to heading back on Friday when we will get to supply much needed food to many of the families.

In another moment that I will not forget, I got to witness Drew pray over a 13 day old child and his family. I have been blessed to meet people who have a heart for missions and Drew is one of them. God has big plans for his future (and Cacks!) and we are just blessed that Hope Church was part of that plan. God knew he was going to be in Los Bordos and he knew that we would be there to pour out his love. Drew was just taking the next obedient step.

We returned back to the house to find soon that a storm had knocked out the electricity. We moved outside to have a little worship and time of encouragement. Drew introduced us to “speed encouraging,” where we had 30 seconds to encourage a team member before we moved to the next. It was neat time and one that left us refreshed and energized for the rest of the week!
As you can now tell, the lights are back on and we are closing out the day. Tomorrow we head to a local homeless shelter to help with some flooding cleanup and ministry to the homeless.
God Bless
