One Family's attempt to live simply, while simply following. Jesus that is!

Headed into a Fall Daze!

The Cracrafts are headed to the Beach!  Myrtle Beach that is.  In what has become sort of a family tradition, our family will be spending Fall Break relaxing and resting up while enjoying God’s beautiful creation.   I have always looked forward to this time because I get away from the work, email, stresses of a normal day, and I get to just be with my wife and kids.  It is also a cool time because we travel with my father, step-mother, and sister.  God has blessed Tara and I with EIGHT wonderful parents and watching our children connect with their grandparents is always a blessing.  EVEN WHEN THEY PUMP THEM FULL OF SUGAR!!!!  :)

But before I jump in the car for a 10-hour marathon Dora the Explorer, I must clear my mind!

  • A big shout out to my U11 Girls Frankfort Fury soccer team.  We traveled to Nashville last week and finished as a Finalist in the Silver Division.  We went 3-1 for the weekend and in a bit of irony, we actually played the best in our single loss.  Overall it was a great weekend and I am really proud of the girls.
  • Watching 13 girls play their heart out and lose a tournament was tough to watch.  Seeing 13 girls walk off the field crying because they wanted it REALLY bad was tougher.
  • About 1 Year ago I weighed 205 pounds.  Then I started exercising.  One year later I am 165.  Praise God for giving me the strength and ability!
  • I still need to read Grace Based Parenting.  But know I have also picked up a couple other books!  Good thing I am headed to vacation.
  • UK Basketball fans are STUPID Crazy.  395 Tents on Day Two.  For Practice?  Practice? Not a game.  We talkin’ about Practice Man?  But I kinda wish I was there……
  • Jimmy Fallon is pretty funny.  I don’t watch much SNL or Late Night, but this was pretty funny.  Check out Jimmy and Justin giving a history of Rap.
  • I wish Apple and AT&T would break up their little marriage.  And I still wish somebody had a spare iPad laying around.
  • I am pretty jealous of a few friends who are headed back to Honduras in December.  I love my job and I am thankful for it, but I wish I got a few more weeks of vacation.
  • Colby is just learning like crazy.  He is starting to read and he is drawing like all the time.  I love it!  I am running out of space though on my work walls.
  • My wife is crafty.  She made is this cool “Family/Missions” bulletin board.  I will have to take a picture to give you the full effect!  If only she could find a guy to hang the thing up.
  • Kallee is starting to scare me.  She can totally get me to do whatever she wants, whenever she wants, and however she wants.  AND I DON”T EVEN REALIZE I AM DOING ANYTHING…..#discipliningmydaughterFAIL
  • I have been reading Job lately in my quiet time.   Pretty humbling stuff.  But, his 3 friends have connected with me more this time around.  I have asked myself a lot if I am one of those friends when I see someone close to me suffering.  Am I trying to give them advice?  Is it Godly and Holy?  Should I even speak?

Well, we will check in next week.  Hopefully with a few nice pictures of the kids.  Please pray for our family as we drive and spend the week away from home.

God Bless, Bo
